Calculator

Medical note: The result supports a clinical decision, it does not replace the doctor's judgement or examining the patient, and is to be checked against your reference before any treatment decision.

How it works and when to use it

The calculator uses the ADAG study equation: eAG (mg/dL) = 28.7 × HbA1c − 46.7, and in mmol/L = 1.59 × HbA1c − 2.59, and converts to IFCC units in mmol/mol.

ADA classes: under 5.7% normal, 5.7 to 6.4% prediabetes, 6.5% or more diabetes range, with a diagnosis confirmed by a second test unless the symptoms are clear.
